We just got a nice email from Stephen Croce, a Masters student in Information Systems from Drexel University.
I'm a masters student in Info Systems at Drexel University, and was introduced to Basecamp by one of my classmates. Every quarter, we have a collaboration project where 3-6 students distributed in far flung geographic areas must put together a project involving different amounts of design, writing, and sometimes code samples. The project typically lasts the entire quarter.
Basecamp has made this collaboration effort much smoother and more effective. I think you've achieved a nice balance between features and ease of use, which in info systems seems to be one of the holy grails. The screens are uncluttered and intuitive. And the price is right too. The system is always on and always super fast.
I think you are to be highly commended. A lot of planning obviously went into the product. I've learned a lot just by interacting with the system and paying attention to what it does and how it does it. For me, being an aspiring systems developer Basecamp often makes me think "wow that's really cool - i wonder how they do that"
Thanks Stephen, that made our day!
